Information we collect

When you use our contact form, we collect the information you choose to provide: your first and last name, and optionally your email address, phone number, and message. If you select an SMS consent category, we also record the category selected, the consent timestamp, the page where consent was given, the consent disclosure version, your browser user agent, and your IP address when available.

How we use information

• To respond to your questions and share relevant resources.
• To send the text messages you specifically opted in to receive.
• To keep records of consent and honor opt-out requests.
• To maintain and improve the website.

SMS communications

SMS messages are sent only to people who check an SMS consent box. Each category is separate:

• Account Notifications: I agree to receive account notifications text messages from LearnBacker Guides related to my subscription, such as delivery of comparison worksheets I request, subscription confirmations, preference change confirmations, opt-out confirmations, and replies to HELP requests, sent to the mobile number I provided. • Marketing: I agree to receive recurring marketing SMS messages from LearnBacker Guides, including a weekly digest of featured website resources, financial aid comparison articles, tuition budgeting resources, special campaigns, and updates about newly published LearnBacker Guides guides, worksheets, and planning tools. Mobile opt-in information

Mobile opt-in data, SMS consent, and phone numbers collected for SMS purposes will not be sold, shared, rented, released, or transferred to third parties for marketing, lead generation, or promotional purposes.

This includes grant brokers, funding organizations, schools, lead aggregators, and third-party marketers. Phone numbers may be processed only by service providers that help us deliver the messages you requested, under obligations to use them solely for that purpose. LearnBacker Guides does not currently offer third-party contact on your behalf; if it ever does, it will require separate, explicit consent that is distinct from SMS opt-in.

Cookies and analytics

Our website may use essential cookies and basic analytics to understand how pages are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Data retention

We keep inquiry and consent records for as long as needed to respond to you, honor your preferences, and meet legal obligations, and then delete or anonymize them.

Opt-out rights

You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT. You can also email support@learnbackerguides.com to ask about, update, or delete your information.

Security

We use access controls on our systems to limit who can view submitted information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children's privacy

This website is intended for users 13 and older and for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Third-party links

We link to official sources such as schools and public program websites. Their privacy practices are their own, and we encourage you to review them.

We may update this policy and will revise the date at the top of this page when we do.
