Program description

The LearnBacker Guides SMS Program is an optional text messaging program with two separate categories. Marketing messages share a weekly digest of featured website resources, financial aid comparison articles, tuition budgeting resources, special campaigns, and newly published LearnBacker Guides guides, worksheets, and planning tools. Account notifications deliver comparison worksheets you request, confirm your subscription, and confirm preference changes, opt-outs, and HELP requests.

LearnBacker Guides is an independent informational resource. Messages do not offer funding, applications, eligibility decisions, or guaranteed assistance.

Message categories

• Account notifications. Message frequency varies based on account activity.
• Recurring marketing messages. Message frequency varies, generally up to 4 messages per month.

Opt-in method

You join by checking one or both SMS consent boxes on our contact page, entering a valid phone number, and submitting the form. Each category requires its own checkbox. Providing a phone number alone is not consent. Consent is not required to use the website.

First message

After you opt in, your first message confirms the category you chose, for example:

• LearnBacker Guides: You're subscribed to recurring marketing texts with featured guides, aid comparison articles, and budgeting resources. Up to 4 msgs/month. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.
• LearnBacker Guides: Account notifications are on. We'll text requested worksheets and confirm subscription and preference changes. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.

Marketing messages: generally up to 4 messages per month. Account notifications: frequency varies based on account activity.

STOP instructions

Reply STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT to any message to opt out. You will receive one confirmation message and no further texts unless you opt in again:

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have parent or guardian permission, and be the account holder or authorized user of the mobile number provided. The program is available to U.S. mobile numbers.

Mobile opt-in data policy

Mobile opt-in data, SMS consent, and phone numbers collected for SMS purposes will not be sold, shared, rented, released, or transferred to third parties for marketing, lead generation, or promotional purposes.
